Tourism manager to speak at Business West Meeting
The Meetings and Sports Sales Manager for Visit KCK, Mindy Lallier, will be the featured
speaker at the Business West Membership Meeting at noon Wednesday, April 19 in the Board
Room of The Dotte Spot Bar and Grill, 8123 Parallel Pkwy., in the Arrowhead Center. Mindy will
talk about the various promotional and marketing efforts of Visit KCK and also the impact of
the 300,000 persons who will come to Greater Kansas City for the NFL Draft later this month.
Those attending the meeting may order off the menu; there is no charge for the meeting;

Shepherd’s Center plans Adventures in Learning
The Shepherd’s Center of Kansas City, Kansas, will present its monthly Adventures in Learning
starting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 3333 Wood Ave. David
Hartman from the Wyandotte County Museum will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m.; he will talk
about the early history of Wyandotte County. The luncheon speaker will be Dr. Rusty Ryan who
will talk about his book A Proven Experiment which tells of the older generation across the

BPU hosts Line Workers Rodeo
The American Public Power Association chose the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities to host
the recent 2023 Public Power Line Workers Rodeo held at the National Agricultural Center and
Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs. Hundreds of electric workers competed in the practice of
essential skills; participants climbed power poles, installed equipment and attended to
simulated rescue situations.
