Benefit planned for scholarship fund
Members of Business West are urged to attend a fundraiser for the Business West Endowment Foundation at Culvers restaurant, 1925 Prairie Crossing, in Village West. Money raised will go toward a scholarship fund at Kansas City, Kansas, Community College. Business West members will be servers.? Culvers will donate 10 percent of its earnings for that night. Banks to have one name?Security
Seven Kansas City area banks that operated as combined BancAbility institutions will become one bank under Security Banks charter. One company owns all of the banks. Besides Security, the other banks are Valley View State Bank, Mission Bank, Industrial State Bank, First Bank of Missouri, Bank of Lees Summit, and Citizens State Bank of Paola. Jim Lewis, president of Security Bank and the banks parent organization, said the one brand should make the banks more powerful.
Partners added to Benefits Design Group
Don Scaro, the founder and senior managing partner of Benefits Design Group, has announced the addition of two partners?T.C. Kim and Donna Tilden. Scaro said both Kim and Tilden have extensive experience and knowledge of wealth management, group benefits, retirement plans, estate planning and executive benefits.
The new arrangement will add value as our collaborative team approach to solving problems will have a positive impact on all our clients, Scaro said.
Annual Meeting scheduled
Wyandot Inc., the parent organization for various social service organizations, will hold its annual meeting from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Savior Pastoral Center, 12600 Parallel Pkwy.
Shepherds Center members to tour museum
Members of the Shepherds Center of Kansas City, Kansas, will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at Grace Lutheran Church, 3333 Wood Ave. and board a bus that will go to the Wyandotte County Museum in Wyandotte County Park, Bonner Springs. Members will also be welcome to travel separately and meet the group at the museum. Trish Schurkamp, the director of the museum, and Loren Taylor, a lawyer and historian, will present the program. Lunch will be served and cost $5 a person.
Business West to publish annual directory
Business West will publish its 2016 edition of its Looking West directory later this year. For more information see attachments including a rate schedule.

All Business West members are always welcome to attend Business West Board Meetings. The board meets at 12:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the Dotte Spot Bar and Grill, 8120 Parallel Pkwy., in the Arrowhead Center.
