Major distributor of sports apparel chooses Edwardsville location
Alphabroder, a major distributor of imprintable sportswear and accessories, recently announced it will occupy a 369,00-square-foot building at 9525 Woodend Rd. in Edwardsville. Alphabroder is based in Trevose, Pa., near Philadelphia. The site was chosen because of its close access to Interstate highways and major markets within a 2-day drive time.
Seminar to focus on retirement planning

Benefit to honor memory of son
The St. Patrick’s Parents (Class of 2009) will host “A Luau with Love” from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at the St. Patrick’s Parish Center, 94th Street and State Avenue. The event will honor the memory of Robert Zevenbergen who died in a tragic auto accident March 20; he was the son of Pete and Cindy Zevenbergen. Mayor Holland to speak
Mayor Mark Holland will be the featured speaker at a Business West Membership Meeting Monday, June 30 at the West Wyandotte Library. Members will learn about development activities. Casino to build hotel
The Kansas Entertainment board of directors recently announced plans to break ground Sunday, Oct. 5 for a new hotel next to the Hollywood Casino. This is consistent with a development agreement between Kansas Entertainment and the Unified Government. The date coincides with the Sprint Cup fall race at the Kansas Speedway.
Bike Rodeo planned
The Kiwanis Club of KCK West will sponsor a free Bike Rodeo from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, May 17 at Schlitterbahn Waterpark, 9400 State Ave. Elementary school children accompanied by an adult participate in a bike riding skills course and earn a safety certificate.

Bank Midwest parent chooses new chairman
The National Bank Holdings Corporation, the parent of Bank Midwest, recently elected Tim Laney as its new chairman. Laney, who has been with the company since 2009, succeeds Frank Cahouet.
Public meeting to concern bikeway
