Mayor to speak at Business West Membership Meeting June 30
Mayor Mark Holland will be the featured speaker at a Business West Membership Meeting at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 30 in the auditorium at the West Wyandotte Library, 1737 N. 82nd St. The Mayor has been invited to speak on development issues, particularly those that affect residential builders and developers. Business West is encouraging the Mayor to invite senior Unified Government officials who help with the development process. The cost for the meeting will be $20 and include lunch. Seminar to help small businesses
The Kansas Small Business Development Center at Johnson County Community Center, Overland Park, will sponsor a strategic planning class entitled “Listening to your business” from 8 a.m. until noon in Room 145 at the Regnier Center, 12345 College Blvd. The class will examine the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities of businesses. It will focus on the importance of a three-year plan and identifying resources to obtain goals. Space will be limited. BPU offers home energy audit program
The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities is offering customers home energy audits with the goal of improving efficiency and reducing costs. BPU will arrange for certified auditors to inspect homes, pointing out ways to improve energy. The cost will be $50. Business West welcomes two new members. They are Mainstreet Credit Union and Ferguson Drywall. Mainstreet has a branch at 8245 State Ave. where its branch supervisor is Andrew Manuel. John D. Beverlin is the chief executive office whose office is in Lenexa. Steve Ferguson is the president of Ferguson Dry Wall with offices at 226 N. 72nd St.; the company does both commercial and residential work.
